Yashasvi Jaiswal loses cool on Shubman Gill after brain-fade run out in 2nd Test vs West Indies – WATCH

New Delhi: Team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out on a well-deserved double century after suffering an unfortunate run-out on Day 2 of the ongoing second Test against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Jaiswal had a brain-fade moment in the middle as he lost his wicket after a terrible mix-up with Indian skipper Shubman Gill. The left-hander was dismissed on 175, failing to add to his overnight score.

Resuming his innings on 175 on Day 2, Jaiswal got sent back in the second over of the day’s play after a disappointing run-out. The dismissal took place on the 2nd delivery of the 92nd over when Jaiswal drove a ball from West Indies pacer Jayden Seales towards mid-off and ran for a single. The ball went straight to Tagenarine Chanderpaul, who collected it quickly and threw it to keeper Tevin Imlach, who made no mistakes in removing the bails in a jiffy.

Jaiswal had immediately set off after playing the shot, while Gill was not interested and turned down the call. The left-hander made it halfway past the crease and was too late in spotting the fielder as he had to cover a lot of ground on his way back. Jaiswal was eventually caught short on the batter’s end as he was sent back on 175, missing out on his double century.

The opening batter made his frustration known as he lost his cool on skipper Gill and was seen animatedly shouting at him before leaving the pitch. Jaiswal was on well on course to achieve his third double ton in Test cricket after a terrific knock on the opening day of the Test match in Delhi. However, he failed to complete his double century.
