Actress Esha Deol, speaking at the trailer launch of her upcoming film ‘Pratap’, shared her heartfelt views on family and relationships, specifically referring to her father, veteran actor Dharmendra, as the ‘perfect husband’.
Her remarks came in response to a question about her definition of an ideal spouse.
Esha emphasized the invaluable role of family, stating, “In life, the family that we have, that I believe is God given – our parents, our children. We choose our husbands ourselves, or our parents chose them for us, if it is arranged, but they become a family. So I believe that whatever ups and downs there are in life, it is important to support each other.” She further added that from her perspective within Bollywood, she has only witnessed her father in that role, hence, “So I will say Mr. Dharam ji” is her benchmark for a perfect husband.
Her upcoming film ‘Pratap’ delves into the life of a police officer who, after years of upholding the law, finds himself on the wrong side of it. Esha expressed her excitement for the project, noting the script’s layered narrative. “What I liked about Pratap was that the story isn’t as straightforward as it may seem. There are several layers to the narrative, and as the story unfolds, you begin to see the characters and their circumstances differently,” she said. Directed by Sachin Saraf, ‘Pratap’ features Amit Sadh in the lead role, alongside acclaimed actors like Seema Biswas, Tigmanshu Dhulia, and Milind Gunaji. The film is slated for a theatrical release on November 20, 2026.
