The sensation spread throughout the area after the body of a 25 -year -old youth was found from a hotel room in Barakhamba area of Delhi. The deceased was identified as Dheeraj Kansal, a resident of Haryana, who was living in a PG in Mahipalpur, Delhi.
The police received information when the hotel staff said that the guest did not come out of the room for a long time and the smell has started coming from inside.
When the door was broken, Dheeraj’s body was found on his back on the bed. He had a pipe attached to the helium gas cylinder in his mouth, and the face was covered with a mask, on which the plastic was wrapped. The equipment with cylinders, masks and gas meters was recovered nearby.
Unusual way of suicide
The manner in which Dheeraj gave his life is very unusual and shocking. Police officials say that this is the first case in Delhi, in which someone has committed suicide through helium gas. Helium is a passive gas, but it replaces oxygen from the body, causing death from suffocation – that too without any struggle.
Found suicide note: “Death is beautiful for me”
The police has also received a suicide note from the spot, in which Dheeraj has written that no one is responsible for his death. He wrote:
“Death for me is the most beautiful part of life. Please do not be unhappy with my death. Suicide is not bad because I have no responsibility for anyone nor is anyone emotionally connected to me.” Dheeraj booked a one BHK flat from AirBNB in the school lane in Bengali Market from 20 to 28 July, which became his last hideout.
Family backgrounds and loneliness
Investigation revealed that Dheeraj’s father died in 2003 and the mother had married another. He has no siblings. It is believed that for a long time loneliness and mental conflict must have been the reasons to inspire its move.
