India beat Cameroon 2-1 for second straight win at Fifa U15 World Cup & Festival

RLalremruatfela’s second-half strike and a penalty save by goalkeeper Jenit Ningthoujam helped India beat Cameroon 2-1 on Sunday, securing their second successive victory at the inaugural Fifa U15 World Cup & Festival Azerbaijan 2026.

The result left the Blue Colts as the only team in Group K to have won both their matches so far.

India took the lead in the opening minute at the Hovsan Competition Complex Pitch 1B when Cameroon’s Fareil Ngobo headed into his own net. Cameroon drew level through an own goal by Muhammad Sohil Khan in the 20th minute, at the stroke of half-time.

Lalremruatfela restored India’s advantage in the 27th minute, while Ningthoujam made a series of saves, including a penalty stop, to protect the lead.

Despite the rain, India made an immediate impact. Deepak Singh Arambam’s first-minute corner caused confusion in the Cameroon penalty area, with Ngobo’s attempted headed clearance sending the ball into his own net.

The Blue Colts held their shape in the closing stages and saw out the contest to maintain their winning start.

India were scheduled to face Grenada later on Sunday before completing the qualification stage against Bahrain and Senegal on October 26.

Their results across the five matches would determine the performance tier they enter for the tournament’s second phase.
