7.5 earthquake in Philippines: A strong earthquake of 7.5 magnitude has occurred in the Mindanao region of the Philippines. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of about 20 kilometers. After this earthquake, local seismology agency Phivolcs has issued a tsunami alert. Along with the earthquake, a tsunami warning has also been issued. People of nearby coastal areas have been asked to move to higher and safe places. At present there is no news of any damage due to the earthquake. The Phivolcs agency also warned of aftershocks in the coastal area of Manay city in Mindanao’s Davao Oriental district.
Possibility of waves higher than one meter
According to Phivolcs, waves higher than one meter above normal tide are expected in the next two hours. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported the earthquake’s intensity as 7.4 and depth as 58 kilometers. The US tsunami warning system has also warned of the danger. Dangerous tsunami waves can arise on the coasts within a radius of 300 kilometers from the epicenter of the earthquake.

No news of major damage
According to media reports, the earthquake has not caused any major damage or destruction. However, the tremors were so strong that people got scared and came out of their homes. Strong earthquake tremors were felt in the Mindanao region of the Philippines.
