Oppo Find X10 Pro Max in Digit Test Labs: Big camera ambitions

The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max surprised me the moment I heard it is the world’s first phone with a triple 200MP camera setup, and that number alone speaks for itself.

Because most phones with triple rear camera setups have one camera that matters and two that exist so the box can say ‘triple.’ The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max does not leave room for that, because the main camera, the ultrawide, and the periscope telephoto are all 200MP sensors. Nothing on the back is there to fill the space. I have been using the Find X10 Pro Max for 3 days, and the cameras are where I started. Of course, the spec sheet goes beyond the camera. There is MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, which is based on a 2nm process, a large 8,000mAh battery, and a 144Hz LTPO display, all in a body with an IP69 rating. Here are my first impressions of the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max from the Digit Test Labs.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max: Three 200MP cameras, no filler

The main rear camera on the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max is a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HPC sensor with a 1/1.3-inch size, a 24mm focal length, an f/1.5 aperture, and OIS. Oppo has added DeepPix on top of it. The ultrawide is a 200MP ISOCELL HP5 at 13mm with f/2.2 and autofocus. The telephoto is another 200MP HP5 with OIS, a 70mm periscope with an f/2.1 aperture.

Telephoto cameras on most phones use a lower-resolution sensor than the main camera. Here, as you may have noticed, the telephoto lens also has the 200MP, which should leave room to crop into a frame and keep detail. The HP5 sensors are 1/1.56-inch against 1/1.3-inch for the main camera, so low light is the part I want to check first.

There is a fourth sensor on the back too. Oppo calls it the True Color Camera, and it has 3.2 million multispectral pixels across 24 channels. Oppo uses it to improve colour accuracy. The front camera is a 50MP ISOCELL JN5 with a 100-degree field of view and autofocus.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max: Trying something different

Oppo is clearly trying something new with the design of the Find X10 Pro Max. The back has a squarish camera module, with one sensor and the flashlight on its right side, and Oppo x Hasselblad branding. I am using the Luna White unit, and it looks very chic.

The Find X10 Pro Max is 8.4 mm thick and weighs 233 grams. For its size, it does feel a bit heavy, but with an 8,000mAh battery inside, I am fine with that. The phone has IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings and a five-star SGS drop resistance rating.

Oppo also gave us the Hasselblad teleconverter kit. It has a teleconverter lens, a MagSafe-enabled case, a lens mounting plate for the case, a strap, a carrying pouch, and a tripod collar. The Hasselblad Orange accents are on every item, and even on the inside of the case, which I like.

The case works for daily carry too, since the lens mounting plate can be removed. With the plate on, it covers the other two lenses on the Find X10 Pro Max, which leaves you with a zoom-only setup.

The durability list is long. The phone carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, which cover water jets, submersion, and high-pressure hot water, and it has a five-star SGS rating for drop resistance. The glass is Crystal Guard Glass.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max: A display that goes from 1 nit to 3,600 nits

The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max features a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution. The refresh rate adapts between 1Hz and 144Hz. It has 10-bit colour depth, BT.2020 support, and Dolby Vision. Brightness is rated at 2,000 nits in HBM and 3,600 nits at peak, with a 1-nit minimum for use in the dark. For eye comfort, Oppo uses 3,840Hz PWM dimming, and the panel carries TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care certification. Under the glass there is a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and Splash Touch handles input with wet fingers.

I will measure peak brightness with a lux meter and run the Calman colour accuracy test for the full review, so the 3,600 nit claim will definitely get checked.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max: A 2nm chip and an 8,000mAh battery

MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro runs the phone, built on TSMC’s 2nm process. It comes with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max runs ColorOS 17 based on Android 17.

The battery is 8,000mAh and uses Oppo’s silicon-carbon cell. Wired charging goes up to 80W, and AIRVOOC wireless charging goes up to 50W. Reverse wired and wireless charging are both supported. Connectivity covers dual SIM, NFC, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.2, and USB 3.2 Gen 1, which helps when you move 200MP files off the phone.

Geekbench, AnTuTu, 3DMark and the CPU throttling test are on the list for the full review, along with PCMark for screen-on time.

Rs 1,99,999 for a camera phone? Here is what comes with it

The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max is available in a single variant and starts at Rs 1,99,999 in India for the 12GB + 512GB model. The teleconverter kit is available at Rs 39,999.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max: First impressions

My time with the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max has been about a phone that does not look like every other flagship. The world’s first 200MP triple camera setup and Hasselblad branding set it apart, and the teleconverter kit shows who Oppo built it for. It is thick and heavy, and the 8,000mAh battery is a fair reason for that. What I still need to find out is whether the three 200MP cameras match in colour and detail when you move from the ultrawide to the main camera to the telephoto. Stay tuned for the full review of the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max dropping soon on Digit.
