Rohit Sharma’s Heartfelt Message For Bhuvneshwar Kumar Before New Zealand Series

by

Bhuvneshwar Kumar made his much-awaited India comeback after four years and he is set to play the first T20I of the five-match series against New Zealand.

Bhuvneshwar made an early return to the team as he was added to the team for the fifth T20I against West Indies. He was also part of the playing XI but didn’t get to bowl due to rain washing out the fixture. Bhuvneshwar will be playing his second game since his return at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Rohit Sharma sent a heartfelt message to Bhuvneshwar before the start of the NZ series.

Speaking on the Family Full House with Rohit Sharma, the former India captain said: “We will go to New Zealand. I hope he performs really well.”

Bhuvneshwar was part of the Rohit-led team in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. Even though the Men in Blue made it to the semi-final, they struggled throughout the tournament and crashed out after suffering a 10-wicket defeat against England in the semi-final. Bhuvneshwar travelled to New Zealand from Australia and was dropped after the series.

brilliance for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025 (17 wickets) and 2026 (28 wickets) earned him another India call-up. He has 90 wickets in 88 T20Is.

Bhuvneshwar hasn’t played an ODI since the South Africa tour in 2022. Rohit was slated to lead Team India in that series but he was ruled out due to an injury. He played his previous ODI under KL Rahul. Bhuvneshwar hasn’t played a Test match since January 2018. He played his last Test under Virat Kohli’s captaincy.
