Titans head coach Robert Saleh defended Jordan Elliott, stating that the recent gun incident involving the player was not a criminal act.

Elliott reportedly retrieved a firearm from his car after an altercation at practice last week, leading to the Titans releasing him.

An NFL spokesperson confirmed that the league is reviewing the situation, which was promptly reported by the Titans. The league recognized the potential severity, stating, “Yes. The club promptly notified the league of the matter which is under review.” A source from another NFL team described the incident as an “egregious conduct violation,” highlighting that having a gun at an NFL facility is strictly prohibited.

Saleh weighed in on the controversy during a press conference, emphasizing that Elliott’s actions did not demonstrate criminal intent. “It wasn’t a criminal act,” Saleh said. He noted that if Elliott were to join another team, he could face suspension due to the league’s policies regarding firearms.

There was no tragedy linked to the incident. Sources indicated that the rules against bringing firearms into NFL facilities are well-established and visibly posted. “If you have a gun, always leave it at home before you drive to work,” a source stated, underscoring the importance of adhering to these guidelines.
