Vivo recently announced the launch date of the S60 series in China. To recall, the Vivo S60 series will succeed last year’s S50 line-up.
And while the Vivo S series phones Chinese exclusives, they are often rebranded as the V series in Indian and global markets.
Ahead of the launch, tipster Sanju Choudhary recently revealed the specifications of the upcoming Vivo S60 series or Vivo V80 series. According to the tipster, the line-up could include the Vivo VS60/V80 and Vivo S60 Vitality Edition.
Vivo V60 Series Launch Date
The Vivo S60 series launch date in India is set for May 29. Following its launch, the S60 series could be unveiled in India as the Vivo V80 series in July. OPPO is also unveiling its Reno 16 line-up in China today, which will serve as primary competition to the S60 series.
Vivo V60 Series Specifications: What to Expect
The Vivo S60 series is tipped to arrive with notable upgrades across display, performance, battery, and camera hardware. According to recent leaks, the line-up could feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother visuals and an improved multimedia experience.
The upcoming smartphones are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processors, depending on the model, although the Vitality Edition could use the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 SoC. The devices may also feature LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, which should deliver faster app loading times, better multitasking, and improved overall performance.
In the camera department, Vivo is expected to equip the series with a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 200MP HP5 primary sensor. The setup could also include a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP telephoto lens for zoom photography. On the front, the phones are tipped to feature a 50MP selfie camera for high-resolution selfies and video calls.
The upcoming Vivo S60 series or V80 series could also focus heavily on battery life, with leaks suggesting a massive 7,200mAh battery paired with 90W fast charging support. Additional features may include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, an X-axis linear motor for improved haptics, and IP68/IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Vivo is also expected to use a premium metal frame design on the devices. If these specifications turn out to be accurate, the Vivo S60 line-up could emerge as a strong competitor to the upcoming OPPO Reno 16 series in both China and global markets.
