Actor Arjun Bijlani, known for his roles in popular TV shows, shared his thoughts on the true essence of Dussehra, emphasizing that personal growth and self-belief are paramount.
He believes the festival’s message extends beyond the traditional triumph of good over evil, highlighting the importance of inner battles.
Bijlani candidly spoke about a significant personal transformation: cultivating patience. “I think I’ve learned to be more patient over the years. Not every situation needs an immediate reaction,” he shared with IANS. He attributes this growth to experience, learning to trust processes, and focusing on controllable aspects. For him, continuous self-improvement is key to a fulfilling life. His journey in the entertainment industry, marked by both highs and lows, has reinforced the idea that consistency and self-belief are crucial for navigating challenges. “Setbacks don’t define you, your response to them does,” he added, stressing resilience.
Reflecting on his biggest personal achievement, Bijlani identified overcoming self-doubt as a pivotal struggle. “The industry comes with uncertainties, but staying positive, holding on to your values, and continuing to do what you love is a victory in itself. For me, that’s the true spirit of Dussehra,” he explained. He also advocated for empathy in today’s fast-paced world, urging people to understand others’ struggles, noting that even small acts of kindness can create a significant impact. Playing complex characters, he believes, has deepened his understanding of human nature, showing that individuals are shaped by their experiences, not just inherently good or bad.
