Actor Yash has shed light on his decision to co-produce the much-anticipated film ‘Ramayana.’ Speaking at a pre-launch event in Hyderabad, Yash detailed how producer Namit Malhotra’s vision for Indian cinema convinced him to join the ambitious project.
Yash recounted his discussions with Malhotra in Los Angeles, where Malhotra expressed a strong desire to elevate the Indian film industry on a global scale. “I want our industry to be placed at that level. That is the day I’ll be happy,” Malhotra had stated, a sentiment that resonated deeply with Yash.
Highlighting the film’s pan-Indian appeal, the ‘KGF’ star urged audiences from all regional industries—Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi—to unite in support of ‘Ramayana.’ “For once, let’s come together if you like the film. Let’s come together and show the world,” he appealed.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ is a collaboration between Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The film features a star-studded cast including Yash, Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, and Rakul Preet Singh. ‘Ramayana: Part One’ is slated for a worldwide release on November 5, 2026.
Yash emphasized that the epic transcends individual film industries, calling for the entire Indian film fraternity to unite in bringing the nation’s stories, culture, and history to a global audience. “This Ramayana is in all our blood. So, when making this film, this is not a work that can happen from just any one film industry. The entire Indian film industry must come together,” he asserted. He stressed the importance of India taking the lead in narrating its own rich cultural heritage to the world.
