Veteran actress Poonam Dhillon has expressed shock over the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff, describing him as a loving, respectful and uncontroversial person she has known since his childhood.
Speaking at the unveiling of Sangeetkar Bappi Lahiri Marg in Mumbai on Monday night, Dhillon said she was stunned to learn about the incident but felt immense relief after being told that the actor was safe.
“My first reaction was a shock. He is such an uncontroversial boy. He has never said anything wrong. He has never done anything wrong. I don’t think he has even thought anything wrong. He is such a good and pure boy. So, when he was fired, it was the biggest shock to us. But immediately, the big relief was that he is fine,” she said.
Dhillon expressed gratitude for his safety, adding, “The biggest relief was that he is fine. Because the protection of the Almighty is on him.”
She also voiced concern for those injured in the incident and wished them a speedy recovery. “I believe one of his colleagues was injured. We pray that he is completely fine. His driver was also injured,” she said.
Recalling her longstanding association with Tiger and his family, Dhillon said she had known him since he was a child and might even have attended his first birthday. She praised his parents for their love and support, describing his father as spiritual and his mother as an amazing friend.
Dhillon also commended the actor for the respect he shows senior members of the film industry.
“There are very few heroes in the industry who respect their seniors so much,” she said.
Concluding her message, she expressed affection for the actor and wished him continued happiness and success, saying she hoped he would always make his parents proud.
The firing incident took place in Mumbai’s Juhu area on October 18, when unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly opened fire at a car carrying Tiger. The actor escaped unhurt, while his driver and a passerby sustained injuries. The incident reportedly occurred as he was leaving after a football-related outing.
