Actress Rukmini Vasanth is reportedly being considered to play legendary playback singer P. Susheela in a biopic. The project is also said to have the backing of Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, who may come on board as its producer. However, neither the casting nor the film has been officially announced. P. Susheela has sung thousands of songs across several Indian languages during her long career. Her journey in the film industry is now said to be under consideration for a biopic, with Rukmini Vasanth being linked to the lead role. The latest reports suggest that the actress may portray the veteran singer on screen.
Interestingly, Rahman had spoken about Susheela’s interest in having her life story made into a film back in 2021. While discussing his film 99 Songs, Rahman revealed that Susheela had watched the Telugu version and expressed a wish to see her own story told in a similar manner. She had also asked him if he could help make it happen. More details are expected to be announced officially soon.
