During Gujarat Development Week, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel distributed employment letters to more than 57,000 youth and provisional offer letters to 25,000. Youth are becoming self-reliant through Kaushalya University and PM Vikas Bharat Yojana.
Gandhinagar. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that the huge youth power (Demographic Dividend) is the biggest capital of the country. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has resolved to make this capital the basis of long-term prosperity.
He said this at the “Youth Employment and Skills Empowerment Ceremony” organized in Gandhinagar on the second day of the Development Week being celebrated in the state from October 7 to 15. The program was telecast live in ITI institutes of all 33 districts of the state.
57,502 youth got employment, provisional offer letter to 25,000
On this occasion, the Chief Minister symbolically presented appointment letters to 57,502 youth selected in the private sector in 658 recruitment fairs through functions organized in various districts of the state from Gandhinagar. The Labor and Skills Department of the State Government has taken the initiative to give provisional offer letters to reduce the dropout rate in ITIs. So far, these letters have been distributed to more than 25,000 trainees under this scheme.
MoU signed with more than 100 industry partners
Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with more than 100 industry partners in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Industries Minister Shri Balwant Singh Rajput and other dignitaries at the event. Its objective is to provide human resources as per the needs of the industries.
The Chief Minister said that this employment provided to the youth is the economic light of Diwali for their families and also a strong step towards self-reliant India.
A new direction is being created with skill, will power and enthusiasm.
The Chief Minister said that the youth of Gujarat have made the impossible possible in the last 24 years on the basis of their skill, will and zeal. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi opened a new path of skill development for the youth, due to which the youth of Gujarat are changing from “job seeker” to “job giver”.
He said that under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, the mantra of ‘work for every hand’ is coming true.
Kaushalya – The Skill University opens doors to new possibilities
The Chief Minister said that the state government has established ‘Kaushalya – The Skill University’, taking forward the collaboration model between industries and ITI institutes. More than 12,000 students of this university have received training in areas like Green Energy, Renewable Energy, Semiconductor, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Health Care and Agro Services.
He also pointed out that under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the innovation-oriented youth of Gujarat have made more than 12,500 startups self-reliant, and the state has remained at the top position in the country’s startup rankings for the last four years.
15 million youth got training, new employment opportunities
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has provided intensive training in various courses to 15 million (1.5 crore) youth in the last decade. Under the PM Employment Apprenticeship Scheme, these skilled youth have also been provided employment in industries.
He said that the Prime Minister has recently launched “PM Vikas Bharat Rozgar Yojana” worth Rs 1 lakh crore, which is a historic step towards making the youth of the country self-reliant and capable.
Message of self-reliant India and vocal for local
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel called upon the youth to adopt the campaigns of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi like “Atmanirbhar Bharat”, “Vocal for Local” and “Har Ghar Swadeshi” in their lives.
Employment letters to 57 thousand youth, unemployment rate only 1.1%
Labor, Skills and Employment Minister Shri Balwant Singh Rajput said that employment letters have been distributed to more than 57,000 youth during the Vikas Week, which is a matter of pride for the entire state. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat has taken a unique initiative with employment fairs, under which youth are being provided jobs immediately after studies with the help of companies.
In the coming years, it will be ensured that 100% students get employment or offer letters during their studies. He said that Gujarat’s unemployment rate is only 1.1%, which is much lower than the country’s average rate of 3.2%.
Single window system for employment and participation of industries
Mr Rajput said that now the process of registration and appointment for jobs has become simple through a single window system in the state. New employment opportunities are continuously being made available through recruitment fairs and other means.
He said that the Gujarat government has made such a system that people from any part of the country can come and get good jobs in the state and settle permanently.
Target to give offer letters to 100% students in future
Shri Vinod Rao, Principal Secretary, Department of Labour, Skills and Employment, said that more effective steps will be taken in the coming years to provide employment to the youth. He said that now it will be ensured that all the students get provisional offer letters during their studies.
Participation of large number of youth in the program
Gandhinagar Mayor Mrs. Miraben Patel, District Panchayat President Mrs. Shilpaben Patel, Labor Director Mr. K.D. were present in the program. Lakhani, Skill Development Director Shri Kamlesh Rathod, departmental officers and a large number of youth and industry representatives were present.
More than 1.5 lakh youth from across the state joined the program virtually. Director of Employment and Training Mr. Nitin Sangwan expressed his gratitude at the end of the program.
