Former India all-rounder Ravi Shastri wants Test wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant to be more mindful when it comes to assessing the match situation during the upcoming NZ tour.
Pant, 29, has scored 3,725 runs in 52 Tests and is part of India’s Test squad, subject to fitness clearance.
“I’ve never sent a message to Rishabh. I tell him: ‘Just be smart. You’ve got tons of ability. You don’t have to change for anybody. Play your natural game, go out there and entertain, but just be aware of the match situation’,” Shastri said.
