Actress Rashmika Mandanna picked her Pushpa co-star Allu Arjun over her Animal co-star Ranbir Kapoor during a rapid-fire round on the popular chat show Koffee With Karan, featuring her alongside Vijay Deverakonda.
After Salman Khan set the tone for the final season of the show, the much-loved couple Vijay and Rashmika appeared together on the couch in the second episode.
The episode marked Rashmika’s debut on Koffee With Karan, while Vijay had previously appeared on the show with his Liger co-star Ananya Panday.
The couple made several candid revelations during their appearance. In the rapid-fire segment, host and filmmaker Karan Johar asked Rashmika to choose between Ranbir Kapoor, her co-star in Animal, and Allu Arjun, with whom she worked in the Pushpa franchise. Rashmika opted for Allu Arjun.
Later, when Karan asked Vijay which actor he believed he shared the best on-screen chemistry with, apart from Rashmika, she quickly interjected, saying “nobody”.
Vijay responded with a light-hearted remark about married life, revealing that his mantra for a happy marriage was simple: “Always agree with your wife.”
The couple also opened up about their journey towards marriage, sharing an amusing detail about how long it took Vijay to agree to tie the knot.
In a recently released promo, Karan asked the two, “Was there a proposal?”
As Rashmika shook her head, Vijay recalled, “She was like, ‘Let’s get married.’ I was like, ‘Okay, you have asked me a 100 times.’”
When Karan asked Rashmika whether she had really asked the Arjun Reddy actor 100 times, she clarified, “I asked him for an entire year.”
Vijay then added, “I am not an a**hole.”
As the episode moved towards the gaming segment, Vijay called Allu Arjun and asked him to deliver his now-iconic line, “Karan, it’s me.”
After keeping fans guessing about their relationship for a long time, Vijay and Rashmika tied the knot on February 26 at ITC Mementos in Udaipur in a traditional ceremony.
