Samsung’s upcoming foldable launch is expected to get a surprise entrant this time around. Samsung usually launches the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold at its Unpacked event in July or August.
However, this time out, the South Korean tech giant is also expected to bring a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra alongside its standard foldables. Ahead of its launch, the upcoming foldable has now surfaced on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: What to Expect
According to tipster Sanju Choudhary, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra has been spotted on the BIS database carrying the model number SM-F976B. While the certification listing does not reveal any hardware details, it suggests that Samsung is preparing the device for an Indian launch this July or August.

As per the leak, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could feature a 6.5-inch M14 cover display and a larger 8.0-inch foldable inner display based on M13 panel technology. Both screens are tipped to support a 120Hz refresh rate.
The foldable is also expected to focus heavily on photography, featuring a triple rear camera setup comprising a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The device may pack a 5,000mAh battery while maintaining an ultra-slim 4.1mm profile when unfolded.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is tipped to arrive with a 5.4-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch foldable inner screen, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. For photography, the handset could feature a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to house a 4,800mAh battery and measure just 4.5mm in thickness when unfolded.
Both foldables are rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and paired with UFS 4.0 storage. Samsung is also expected to offer 45W wired charging and 25W wireless charging support on both models.
For selfies and video calls, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra are tipped to feature dual 10MP front-facing cameras. With certifications already surfacing and leaks gaining momentum, Samsung’s next foldable lineup could make its official debut in the coming weeks.
