As the outdoor season returns, Abu Dhabi Turf Club is introducing a new way to spend Thursday evenings with live racing, golden- hour views and a unique outdoor experience from October 22.
‘Sunset at the Turf’, is part of the 2026-2027 racing season and will feature 14 race meetings alongside marquee events including the UAE President Cup on December 12, 2026 and the Abu Dhabi Gold Cup on February 7, 2027.
The racing series takes place during the Golden Jubilee season, marking 50 years of an equestrian legacy established by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan in 1976. Today, Abu Dhabi Turf Club forms a part of Al Khail Square, the capital’s premier integrated lifestyle destination.
Designed as an after-work experience, ‘Sunset at the Turf’ brings friends, colleagues and plus-ones to enjoy an evening outdoor with live racing as the sunsets over the track. Each race evening features seven races, with the first starting at 5pm and subsequent taking place every 30 minutes until 8pm. The race meeting includes five Purebred Arabians races and two for Thoroughbreds.
Between races, guests with premier admission can enjoy access to the garden overlooking the track and finish line, offering a relaxed setting to catch up with friends, take in the racing action, pick a favourite and cheer on the next race. Whether guests follow racing closely or are visiting the Turf for the first time, ‘Sunset at The Turf’ offers an easy, sociable introduction to the sport. For added fun, guests can take part in pick and win, a free-to-enter game where predicting the winners across the evening’s race gives participants the chance to win prizes.
Ali Al Shaiba, Director General of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club and Abu Dhabi Turf Club and Chief Executive Officer of Al Khail Square, said: ‘For 50 years, the equestrian legacy that today is Al Khail Square has brought people together through a shared appreciation of horses.
‘With Sunset at the Turf, we are creating a welcoming experience that combines racing, hospitality and community in a format that is accessible to both long-time enthusiasts and first-time visitors. As we celebrate our Golden Jubilee season, we look forward to welcoming more people to discover the excitement of racing in Abu Dhabi.”
