A theatre course at Columbia University reignited Sara Ali Khan’s childhood dream of becoming an actor, prompting her to reconsider her plans to pursue law while studying history at the university. She weighed almost 100 kg at the time.
Speaking on actor Anil Kapoor’s show ‘India Ke Top 1%’, Sara said she had always wanted to act but also enjoyed academics and studying. She initially thought she would pursue a law degree before a theatre course and performing on stage brought her back to her childhood ambition.
“When I went on stage and performed, the desire of my childhood which I had kept out of my mind started arising again. So, I thought I have to do this. I have to try. That’s how it happened. And I was almost 100 kg at that time,” she said.
