Veteran fashion designer Ritu Beri has been at the forefront of Indian fashion since launching her own label in 1990. For the latest episode of the podcast Baatein Dil Se with Times Group Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar, Ritu got candid, not just about her career but also about the fashion dos and don’ts every man and woman should follow. During her exclusive conversation, the fashion designer also revealed which Bollywood stars she would like to dress up again and again. She also recalled her first meeting with King Charles, which became a bit “naughty” according to her.

In the podcast with Navika Kumar, Ritu recalls her long association with the Devdas star. She said, “I was launching a book. It was called 101 Ways To Look Your Best. And I said, ‘Who’s the best looking woman in the country?’ And for me, it was .” When asked how she would dress up Madhuri, Ritu shared that the actress doesn’t need anything.
Ritu also stated that Akshay Kumar “in orange pants looks hot!” Years ago she also met King Charles when he came down to open a medical facility for a friend. Shah Rukh Khan was also going to be in attendance. About the meeting, Ritu said, “I was a bit naughty. I gave him the flowers. And very sweetly he said, ‘Actually, I should actually be giving you the flowers.’ I said, ‘Please do, with a kiss!'”
Elsewhere in a rapid-fire session, Ritu reveals her ultimate fashion icon, the trend she would like to see gone and the one celebrity she would like to dress up. She named Katrina Kaif as the celebrity that she loved to dress up. The fashion designer also said that she has never followed rules in her four-decade career, but she still has one dream she’d like to see come true.
