For years, Tollywood’s film legacy was largely associated with star sons who followed their fathers into acting. Now, daughters from prominent film families are also stepping forward, not just as actresses but as producers and business leaders.
Chiranjeevi’s daughter Sushmita Konidela has moved from costume designing into film production. Naga Babu’s daughter Niharika Konidela has built her own identity as an actress and producer, with Committee Kurrollu bringing her production venture recognition.
Balakrishna’s daughter Tejaswini Nandamuri has also been involved in film production. In another prominent family, Supriya Yarlagadda has made her mark as a producer. Swapna and Priyanka Dutt, daughters of veteran producer C. Ashwini Dutt, are continuing their family’s filmmaking tradition, while Dil Raju’s daughter Hanshita Reddy is also involved in production.
The trend is not limited to work behind the camera. Rajasekhar and Jeevitha’s daughters Shivani and Shivatmika have entered acting, while Srikanth and Ooha’s daughter Medha Meka is preparing for her lead-acting debut.
The change is clear Tollywood’s family legacy is no longer being carried forward by sons alone. Daughters are increasingly finding their own place in the industry, across acting and production.
