Ram Charan once revealed in an interview that he blindly follows whatever S S Rajamouli tells him, but does not give the same freedom to other directors.
He reportedly told his close friends that, except for Rajamouli, every director has to explain the script and justify their creative choices to him.
His approach may have become more cautious after the disappointing results of films such as Koratala Siva’s Acharya and Shankar’s Game Changer.
However, it appears that Ram Charan is now making an exception for Sukumar, treating him on par with Rajamouli when it comes to creative freedom.
Insiders tell GreatAndhra that Ram Charan has told Sukumar he will go along with whatever the director plans for him.
He has reportedly assured Sukumar that he will not interfere in casting decisions or the selection of the technical team. The director will have the freedom to choose the artistes and technicians he wants to work with.
Work on their upcoming film, tentatively referred to as RC17, has already begun, with Sukumar and his team moving into a new office. The film is expected to be launched on October 25 or 26.
Ram Charan has reportedly heard the complete storyline and is satisfied with it.
The project marks the reunion of the actor and director after the blockbuster Rangasthalam. Expectations are naturally high for their next collaboration.
