Aman sehrawat handed 1 year ban: Aman Sehrawat, a star wrestler from India, has become a victim of increased weight. He has been found to be more than its prescribed weight limit, due to which the WFI i.e. the Indian Wrestling Federation banned him. Aman Sehrawat won the bronze medal for India at the Paris Olympics. Sehrawat represents India in the 57 kg weight category of men’s freestyle wrestling. But due to not coming below the prescribed weight limit till the Senior World Championship, action has been taken on them.
Increased weight became trouble for Aman Sehrawat
22 -year -old Aman Sehrawat was found to be 1.7 kg higher than the scheduled weight limit on the day of Senior World Championship, after which he was disqualified. Along with this, he has also been removed from all the activities related to wrestling for 1 year.
One year banned ban
WFI sent a letter banning Aman Sehrahat, which wrote that you are suspended from all the activities related to wrestling nationally and internationally for one year from the date of show cause notice. This decision is the last. During the period of suspension, you are banned by participating or joining any activity organized by WFI at both national and international levels.
The Indian Wrestling Federation wrote a letter to Aman Sehrawat on September 23, 2025, in which he sought his reply as to how he missed the weight during the championship. According to WFI, Sehrawat sent his reply in clarification on 29 September, but the discipline committee does not agree with him. The ban on Aman Sehrawat will be applicable till 22 September 2026.
WFI told Sehrawat in a letter that the discipline committee duly reviewed your reply given on 29 September 2025. Apart from this, clarification was taken from the head coach and assistant coaching staff. After a thorough investigation, the committee found your reply unsatisfactory and decided to take strict disciplinary action.
