BALTIMORE (AP) – Dillon Dingler propelled the Detroit Tigers to a 4-1 victory against the Baltimore Orioles in the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday, effectively ending an eight-game losing streak.
The Tigers, who have struggled throughout the season, managed to secure only their third win in 19 games. Kevin McGonigle contributed significantly with a two-run single, marking the team’s first victory since August 2020.

Dingler’s two-run homer in the first inning set the tone for the Tigers, while Troy Melton and two relievers combined to allow just three hits during the game. Melton, making his season debut after recovering from elbow inflammation, pitched 5 2/3 innings, surrendering only two hits and one run.
