‘They Allow One Protest, Crush Another’: CJP’s Unity Appeal As INDIA Bloc Goes Unscathed

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday urged not to let conspiracy theories fuel mistrust among those opposing Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that the government’s differential treatment of protests is creating divisions among people fighting for the same cause.

In a post on social media, Dipke pointed out that when CJP was granted permission to protest, several people alleged that the organisation had been planted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He contrasted this with the INDIA bloc’s massive protest on Monday, October 12, claiming that it did not face the kind of crackdown witnessed during the CJP protest on October 10.

“When CJP was granted permission to protest, many were quick to float conspiracy theories that we were planted by the BJP. Yesterday, the INDIA bloc held a massive protest, but there was no crackdown like the one we witnessed on October 10. This is exactly how the govt plays us against each other,” Dipke posted on X.

“By treating different protests differently, they create suspicion and mistrust among people who are ultimately fighting for the same cause,” the CJP founder wrote.

He urged people to look beyond conspiracy theories. “My only request to everyone is to see through these tactics. Today, they may allow one protest and crush another. Tomorrow, they could reverse the roles. The idea is to keep us doubting each other instead of questioning those in power. Don’t let conspiracy theories divide us. Don’t fall into the trap of fighting among ourselves when we should be standing together. The fight is against Gyanesh Kumar and those protecting him. Don’t lose sight of that,” he added.

October 10 was the scheduled date for a protest by the the CJP against CEC Gyanesh Kumar. However, the demonstration plan was foiled by Delhi Police. Over 7,000 people, including top Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders, Arvind Kejriwal, and leaders from Left, were detained. CJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained by the Delhi Police as soon as their flight landed in the national capital and were released the next day by an executive magistrate court.

On October 12, Opposition leaders converged at the Constitution Club and headed towards Barakhamba Road junction in air-conditioned buses. From the junction, they started their march to the Supreme Court. A joint petition was filed in the Supreme Court over alleged large-scale voter deletions and irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
