‘Brace For Crushing Defeat In 2029’: Amit Shah Targets Rahul Gandhi, Says NDA Set For Massive Majority

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Opposition, asserting that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would secure a massive majority in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.

Shah also accused the Congress of attempting to shield infiltrators under the guise of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, claiming that people had understood the Opposition’s strategy and would no longer be misled.

“I want to tell Rahul Gandhi that the people of this country have fully understood your strategy of shielding infiltrators under the guise of the SIR, and they will no longer fall for your ruses,” Shah was quoted as saying.

“I also wish to tell Rahul Gandhi and his associates to brace themselves for a crushing defeat in 2029. The NDA is set to secure a massive majority in the 2029 general elections, and the Congress is headed for yet another defeat — its fourth consecutive loss,” he added.

‘You Cannot Become The Voice Of The Nation With 8,000 People’

Taking aim at the Congress and its allies, Shah said that bringing together cadres of 14 political parties to gather around 8,000 people within a 1.5-kilometre area did not make them the voice of the country.

He urged the Congress to recognise that the country’s voice also resonated in rural areas, agricultural fields, remote hills, forests and along riverbanks, alleging that the party lacked reach in these regions.

“The entire cadre of 14 parties is brought together, and by gathering a crowd of 8,000 people within an area of one-and-a-half kilometres, you cannot become the voice of the country,” Shah said.

“My appeal to the Congress party is that the voice of the country also lies in the fields, villages, distant hills, forests and along riverbanks. You have no reach there,” he added.

Amit Shah Thanks Voters, Backs BJP-NDA

Shah also thanked voters in Tripura, Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Bengal and Assam, crediting them with supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP and the NDA despite what he described as malicious propaganda.

“Today, on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party, I once again wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to the people of Tripura, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bengal and Assam,” he said.

He added that voters in these states had endorsed the BJP’s Lotus symbol and the NDA, thereby strengthening what he termed nationalist forces.

“The people of this country stand with Narendra Modi, the BJP and the NDA. You cannot deny this truth,” Shah said.

His remarks come amid an intensifying political confrontation between the BJP and the Congress over the SIR exercise, electoral rolls and the Opposition’s allegations against the ruling party.
