‘Interesting Updates Coming Soon’: Lokesh Kanagaraj on Film With Allu Arjun

In early January this year, Allu Arjun’s film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, tentatively titled AA23, was announced amid considerable fanfare. However, with the actor’s other project, Raaka, already in production, updates on his collaboration with Lokesh have been limited. This led to speculation that the two had parted ways and that AA23 had been put on hold. Now, Lokesh’s latest social media post has reignited interest in the project.

‘Interesting updates coming soon’

Amid speculation that the film had been shelved, Lokesh Kanagaraj took to social media and wrote, “Interesting updates coming soon.” Many interpreted the post as a response to the rumours surrounding the project, although the director did not explicitly address the speculation.

The post has given fans renewed hope, particularly after a prolonged wait for news about the collaboration. Lokesh also shared a picture of himself interacting with Allu Arjun, further fuelling curiosity about the film’s progress.

While reports suggest that the project is undergoing script revisions, details about its casting, production schedule and eventual release remain unclear. For now, fans will have to wait for an official announcement to learn more about what the director and actor have planned.

AA23 has global appeal

The combination of Allu Arjun, Lokesh Kanagaraj and music composer Anirudh Ravichander has generated considerable anticipation. Allu Arjun’s box-office standing has grown significantly following the success of the Pushpa franchise, strengthening his position in the pan-Indian market. His subsequent choices are being closely watched as he looks to build on that success.

The story of AA23 is also expected to have the potential to appeal to audiences beyond regional boundaries. However, the makers have yet to reveal details of the film’s plot or confirm its intended scale.

Lokesh, meanwhile, has established a distinct identity through his interconnected cinematic universe and high-octane action dramas. His films have generated substantial box-office interest, giving his next collaboration with Allu Arjun considerable commercial significance.

Anirudh Ravichander’s involvement adds another layer of anticipation. Known for his energetic scores and memorable soundtracks, the composer could further shape the film’s appeal. With three prominent names attached to the project, expectations remain high as audiences await the promised updates.
