Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s Delhi concert, originally scheduled for November 1, has been rescheduled to October 30, 2026, following an appeal by Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney.
Dr. Sahney had urged the singer to reconsider the original date in view of the sentiments of families affected by the 1984 anti-Sikh genocide. For many of these families, November 1 remains a painful reminder of the tragedy and the loss of their loved ones.
Welcoming the decision, Dr. Sahney thanked Diljit Dosanjh and the concert organisers for considering his appeal and agreeing to the change in schedule.
“I sincerely thank Diljit Dosanjh for graciously accepting my request. He is a true son of Punjab, a proud turbaned global icon, and an inspiration to millions. His sensitivity towards the pain of the victims and their families reflects the compassion and responsibility that come with his stature,” Dr. Sahney said.
