Gujarat Development Week 2025: 24 years of development journey and public participation Mahaotsav | Gujarat Vikas Saptah 2025 24 years of Narendra Modi Governance Bhupendra Patel

Gujarat is celebrating development week from 7 to 15 October 2025. The event based on achievements of 24 years includes youth empowerment, employment fair, Vibrant Gujarat Conference, Agriculture and Health Programs.

Gandhinagar. Spokesperson Minister Shri Rishikesh Patel told in the press conference that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi took over as the 14th Chief Minister of Gujarat on 7 October 2001. This continuous journey of Gujarat’s development, which started from the same day, is successfully completing 24 years on 7 October 2025.

On this occasion, the state government has decided to celebrate ‘Vikas Saptah’ in the entire state from 7 to 15 October 2025. This week will be celebrated with the aim of transporting the saga of Gujarat’s resolution accomplishment, multidimensional progress and public interest and good governance.

Development Week: 10 departments, 13 themes, celebration of public participation

Minister Shri Patel informed that in the development week, 10 departments will have active participation and programs will be organized on a total of 13 subjects. Every day will be celebrated under different themes, in which participation of youth, women, farmers and all sections of society has been ensured.

The main objective of this event is to introduce people to development works and benefit them directly from the schemes.

India Development Pledge: Start of Development Week

Vikas Week will begin with the assembly premises, where the Chief Minister, Minister and senior officials will join the ‘Bharat Vikas Pledge’. Similarly, in 34 districts of the state, pledge programs will be organized in Collector offices, government offices, schools and colleges.

Citizens will also be able to take online pledge on MyGov portal. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel will formally start the development week on this occasion.

October 7: Youth Empowerment Program

Many programs for the youth will be held on 7 October 2025 on the first day. Exhibition of flagship schemes, online quiz competitions across the state, essay writing and lecture garland will be organized at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.

Apart from this, ‘Namotsav’ cultural programs, padyatra at important sites, podcast with cricketer Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma, and Maharaja Sayajirao of Vadodara will be discussed at the subject of ‘Developed India@2047’ at Sayajirao Gaikwad University. More than 50 such programs will also be held at other places throughout the week.

Self -reliant India and indigenous campaign

On October 7, members of cooperative institutions will send more than one crore postcards to the Prime Minister for expressing gratitude to the GST reforms made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and reforms in the cooperative sector. These postcards have messages on topics like self -reliant India, indigenous campaign, Ayushman Bharat, Financial Inclusion, DBT and Solar Rooftop Scheme.

The postal department prints about 1.50 crore postcards per year, while only more than 1 crore postcards have been written in Gujarat this year- this is an unprecedented achievement in itself.

A postcard exhibition will also be organized at Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad. 4.50 lakh postcards have also been written by the Department of Higher and Technical Education, in which students have expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister’s campaigns.

As part of the indigenous campaign, lectures are being organized in 100 colleges and universities, out of which 62 lectures have been completed. In these lectures, experts are telling the students how both state and country can become rich by adopting indigenous.

October 8: Statewide Employment Fair

A state level employment fair will be held on 8 October 2025 in Gandhinagar. Similarly, there will be similar programs in other 33 districts. On this day, more than 50,000 youth will be provided appointment letters, and provisional placement offer letters to 25,000 ITI students. Also, more than 100 MoUs will be signed with industries for upgradation of industrial training institutes.

9 and 10 October: Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Mehsana

This conference held in Mehsana will focus on promoting industrial and entrepreneurship development of the state. It will hold MSME Conclave, Entrepreneurship Assistance Fair, Vendor Development Program, Reverse Crame-Wire-Development Meeting, and Startup Hackathon. In addition, industrialists and business leaders will share their experiences and explain how they can contribute to the vision of developed Gujarat@2047.

October 11: Panchayat Advance and Village Development

Rajkot will have a state level program. During this period, beneficiaries of various schemes will be distributed to the beneficiaries, respect for the best gram panchayats, and a collective foundation stone of Panchayat houses in all gram panchayats.

On October 15, on the occasion of the closing of the Rath Yatra, there will be inauguration and foundation stone of development works of less than 1 crore in each district. Along with this, ‘Cleanliness Oath’ will be administered per one development chariot per district and in all government institutions.

12 and 13 October: Urban Development and Swadeshi Fair

In these two days, the development works of the municipal bodies will be inaugurated and founded. The Swadeshi Mela (Shopping Festival) will be held in all metros, where public architecture construction and murals will be decorated by local artists.

October 14: Agricultural Development Day and Rabi Agricultural Festival

Rabi Agricultural Festival will be organized by the Agriculture Department across the state. In this, stalls based on crop sempathy, farmer guidance, agricultural exhibition, animal health fairs, and new technology will be set up. This day will be completely dedicated to farmers and agricultural innovations.

October 15: Foundation stone and inauguration ceremony

On the last day, the state level inauguration and foundation stone program will be organized in the Mahatma temple of Gandhinagar. In this, works ranging from 1 crore to 25 crore rupees of Rs 3326 crore will be inaugurated.

Also, the Department of Education will organize hackathon, essay competition, quiz, lecture garland, webinar, and ‘Lakhpati Didi’ and ‘Drone Didi’ seminars. In addition, 10 ‘Swami Vivekananda Competitive Examination Study Center’ will also be inaugurated.

Special initiatives of Health Department

During development week, the Health Department will identify 1700 high -risk pregnant mothers and will give them information about the berth micro plan. Under the Namoshri scheme, about 10,000 beneficiaries will be given Rs 7 crore, and Rs 1.5 crore will be given to 6000 beneficiaries through DBT under Pradhan Mantri Matruvandana Yojana.

Ayushman cards will be distributed to 14,000 senior citizens under the Vay Vandana Yojana. Also, the inauguration of 180 trunate machines, CPR training in 24 medical colleges, special programs on World Mental Health Day (October 10) and 34 model CHC centers are proposed proposed.

Apart from this, the e-book of ‘Healthy Women Strong Family Campaign (Snspa)’ will be launched and health awareness will be increased through podcast.

Activities of Information and Broadcasting Department

A special booklet will be published by the department under the title ’24 years- successful and competent leadership ‘. Also, Development Week Quiz, Photo and Reel Competition will be organized on MyGov India portal to increase the participation of the public.
