JSW MG Motor India has announced the MG Hector Tomahawk as the official car of the Indian Super League (ISL) for the 2026-27 season. The recently launched special edition SUV will be showcased at stadiums across the country, while football fans can also expect dedicated vehicle interaction zones during matchdays.

The announcement follows MG’s decision to become the title sponsor of the tournament. The competition will now be known as the MG Indian Super League, marking a major push by the automaker to strengthen its association with Indian football.
The ISL 2026-27 season is scheduled to begin on October 10, with Bengaluru FC taking on Sporting Club Delhi at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. FC Goa will face Chennaiyin FC at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa on the same day.
MG Hector Tomahawk To Feature Across 13 Stadiums

As part of the partnership, the Hector Tomahawk will be displayed at prominent locations across all 13 ISL stadiums during the season. MG will also set up dedicated interaction zones, giving fans an opportunity to get closer to the SUV while attending matches.
However, the partnership goes beyond stadium displays and branding. MG is introducing awards to recognise individual performances throughout the tournament.
The standout player of every match will receive the ‘MG Hector Tomahawk Most Electrifying Player’ recognition. The award is intended to celebrate players who make a decisive impact on the pitch.
The biggest prize will come at the end of the season. The Player of the Tournament will receive an MG Hector Tomahawk, making the SUV a central part of the league’s end-of-season celebrations.
The awards will be promoted through on-field presentations, television broadcasts, commentary integrations and digital content shared across ISL and participating club platforms.
MG Strengthens Its Football Connection
Vinay Raina, Chief Commercial Officer at JSW MG Motor India, said the company wanted to deepen its connection with football fans across India. He added that the Hector Tomahawk’s bold design and performance reflected the intensity and confidence displayed by the league’s standout players.
Karan Yadav, CEO of the Indian Super League, welcomed MG as the title partner and said the association would add to the matchday experience for fans.
Football is not an entirely new territory for MG. The brand has previously partnered with international clubs such as Liverpool FC and Arsenal. In India, it has also supported grassroots football through its association with the Patan Girls Football Team from Gujarat.
What Is The MG Hector Tomahawk?

The Hector Tomahawk is a recently launched version of MG’s popular mid-size SUV. It’s already available in fully electric version while the plug-in hybrid version will be in the market soon. The company is using the special edition to highlight the Hector’s design and road presence while building greater visibility through the ISL partnership.
MG has not announced any additional mechanical changes specifically linked to the football association in its announcement. The focus is instead on showcasing the SUV at stadiums and connecting it with memorable performances during the season.
For MG, the ISL partnership offers access to football audiences across multiple cities and a full season of visibility. For fans, the most tangible takeaway will be the match-by-match player awards and the chance for the tournament’s top performer to drive home an MG Hector Tomahawk.
