New Delhi: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his heartfelt thanks to the electorate for their support of the BJP-NDA in the recent byelections held in Assam, West Bengal, and Puducherry.
He noted that these victories signify a strong connection between the populace and the governance principles upheld by the alliance.
Modi took to X to share his sentiments, stating, “I am grateful to the people for their ongoing support! The Lok Sabha outcome from Nagaon in Assam and the Assembly results from Nandigram and Rejinagar in West Bengal reaffirm that the citizens resonate deeply with the good governance initiatives of the BJP-NDA. I extend my congratulations to the winning BJP candidates and commend the dedication of our party workers.”
Additionally, he congratulated the NDA partner, the AINRC, for their success in the Thattanchavady constituency in Puducherry.
He remarked, “This mandate will empower us further as we strive diligently for the welfare of our citizens and to realize their dreams for a brighter and more prosperous future.”
The BJP achieved a remarkable victory in the West Bengal Assembly byelections, defeating its opponents by an unprecedented margin in the crucial Nandigram constituency and securing an unexpected win in the Muslim-majority Rejinagar, solidifying its foothold just five months after ending the TMC’s 15-year governance in the state.
In Assam, BJP candidate Devasish Sharma has established a commanding lead of 176,391 votes over his closest competitor, AIUDF leader Badruddin Ajmal, during the Nagaon Lok Sabha byelection, with vote counting still in progress at the time of this report.
The ruling AINRC in Puducherry also celebrated victory in the byelection for Thattanchavady held on October 6.
