Samantha changed her name to Samantha Akkineni and used the surname on her social media accounts after marrying Naga Chaitanya.
However, after her divorce from Naga Chaitanya and her subsequent marriage to Raj Nidimoru, she has not added his surname to her name. This has caught the attention of many.
Some argue that adopting the surname of a well-known or influential family can carry social or public value, and point out that Samantha had added “Akkineni” to her name after her first marriage. They therefore wonder why she has not done the same with “Nidimoru”.
However, that argument does not entirely fit Samantha’s situation.
The surname Nidimoru is not an obscure one in the entertainment industry. It has gained recognition largely because of Raj Nidimoru, the successful filmmaker known for his work in Hindi and Telugu entertainment.
Therefore, if Samantha wanted to add Nidimoru to her name, she could certainly do so, and her popularity would likely give the surname even greater visibility.
That said, the actual reason behind Samantha’s decision is not known. For now, she appears to have chosen to continue using simply “Samantha” without adding another surname.
Whether that changes in the future or she continues with the same name remains to be seen.
