4 Cars With The BIGGEST Diwali Discounts: Tata Curvv To Kia Carnival

Big discounts are back on several SUVs this October, but the headline number does not always mean a straight cash cut. Tata Curvv buyers can get benefits of up to Rs 1.25 lakh, the Jeep Compass goes up to Rs 1.5 lakh, the Meridian to Rs 1.65 lakh, and the Kia Carnival to Rs 1.70 lakh.

The useful part for a buyer is understanding how those totals are built. Some offers are cash discounts. Others depend on exchanging or scrapping an old car, being an existing customer, working for an eligible company, or buying older stock.

Tata Curvv: Up To Rs 1.25 Lakh, But Only On Eligible Versions

Tata’s offer is the clearest of the four. Non-Series X Curvv variants get a Rs 30,000 cash discount, plus either a Rs 40,000 exchange benefit or a Rs 45,000 scrappage benefit, along with a Rs 50,000 loyalty benefit.

That means the maximum Rs 1.25 lakh figure assumes the Rs 30,000 cash discount, Rs 45,000 scrappage benefit and Rs 50,000 loyalty benefit can all be claimed. A buyer choosing exchange instead of scrappage would reach Rs 1.20 lakh. The Curvv X is treated very differently and gets only a Rs 20,000 loyalty benefit.

So this is one case where the advertised maximum is substantial, but it is not available to every Curvv buyer in the same form.

Jeep Compass And Meridian: Big Numbers, Less Universal

However, the published offer information does not provide one universal cash-plus-exchange breakup that applies to every buyer. The Compass also has corporate benefits of up to Rs 1.1 lakh for eligible companies, while doctors and leasing companies can receive a further special benefit of up to Rs 15,000.

On the Meridian, corporate benefits can go up to Rs 1.3 lakh on MY2024 inventory, while doctors and leasing companies can receive special benefits of up to Rs 30,000.

These figures should not simply be added together. Eligibility depends on variant, model year, stock, city and buyer category. The MY2024 reference on the Meridian is particularly important because a large discount on an older manufacturing-year vehicle needs to be judged against resale implications and how long the car has been in stock.

Kia Carnival: Rs 1.70 Lakh Is Mostly Conditional

The Carnival has the biggest headline benefit among these four at Rs 1.70 lakh. Its package is made up of a Rs 1 lakh exchange offer, Rs 20,000 scrappage benefit and corporate benefits of up to Rs 50,000.

Notice what is missing: there is no straight cash discount in that breakup. A customer without an eligible exchange vehicle or corporate qualification may therefore get far less than Rs 1.70 lakh.

That is the main rule for shopping these October offers. Do not compare only the maximum benefit printed in an advertisement. Ask the dealer to give the discount in writing, line by line, against the exact variant and VIN being offered.

Also check whether exchange and scrappage benefits can actually be combined, whether a loyalty benefit requires ownership of a particular brand, and whether corporate benefits apply to your employer.

A Rs 1 lakh-plus offer can genuinely reduce the purchase cost, but only when the buyer qualifies for the components that create that number.
