Following the F 450 GS and recently revealed F 450 R, BMW’s 450 platform looks set to gain a fully faired sports bike, with production at TVS’s plant in India
BMW Motorrad has released a new teaser showing a fully faired motorcycle, believed to be the upcoming F 450 RR. Shared on its social media channels on October 8, the teaser announces a global reveal on Thursday, October 15, at 5 PM CEST, or 8:30 PM IST.
The announcement comes just a week on October 1. With the F 450 GS already forming the adventure-touring arm of the family, the upcoming sports bike would extend the platform into a third distinct category.

BMW F 450 RR – What The Teaser Reveals
The darkened image reveals a sports-bike silhouette with a full fairing, raised windscreen and mirrors positioned on either side of the front cowl. A sculpted fuel tank flows into a low rider’s seat, while the sharply raised tail gives the motorcycle a more aggressive stance.
The handlebars appear positioned lower than those of the F 450 R, suggesting a more forward-leaning riding posture. Alloy wheels, a front disc brake and a compact rear section are also visible, although the lighting conceals finer details of the bodywork and mechanical components. BMW’s caption reads, “Something’s waiting in the fast lane,” reinforcing the motorcycle’s sporting positioning. The F 450 RR name also remains an expectation ahead of the reveal.

420cc Parallel-Twin Engine Expected
The upcoming motorcycle is expected to share its and F 450 R. Despite the 450 branding, this platform uses a 420cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with dual overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder.
In the recently revealed F 450 R, it produces 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Similar output figures are likely for the RR. Also expected is the Shift Assistant Pro and its Easy Ride Clutch technology to the sports bike. Available on the platform’s other models, the latter allows riders to move off and stop without operating the clutch lever.

Shared Platform, Sportier Package
The F 450 R provides an indication of the equipment BMW could offer. Its package includes a tubular steel frame, USD front forks, a rear monoshock, 17-inch alloy wheels and disc brakes at both ends.
A similar foundation is expected for the RR, with suspension settings and ergonomics potentially adapted to its sports-bike role. A 6.5-inch TFT display, smartphone connectivity, riding modes, traction control and cornering-capable ABS are also likely, drawing from the equipment already offered within the family.
BMW’s expansion of the 450 range follows a familiar approach. The earlier entry-level lineup covered naked, adventure and fully faired formats through the G 310 R, G 310 GS and G 310 RR. The newer parallel-twin family appears set to follow that same three-model structure. The RR will also be manufactured at the same TVS plant in India as its GS and R siblings, extending the BMW–TVS manufacturing partnership. An India launch is likely in 2027.
