This morning began with disheartening news—Bollywood actor Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75. As per the reports, he was rushed to a nearby hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest, where he was declared dead.
Speaking to media agency ANI, Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, shared the medical timeline of the actor’s final hours. The actor was brought to the facility at approximately 4:30 AM. Medical staff aggressively performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and cardiac massage for roughly 45 minutes to an hour, but they were unable to revive him. He was officially declared dead at 5:20 AM.
Dr. Salkar also disclosed the distressing sequence of events leading up to the tragedy. He shared that Nana Patekar texted one of his friends that he wasn’t feeling well. However, because it was late at night, his friend couldn’t see the message, but he arrived at his flat around 4:00 AM; by then, the actor was sweating, and his friend administered primary first aid.
As Nana’s condition deteriorated, his friend sent his caretaker to the nearby hospital. The hospital team reached Nana’s house with an ambulance, and they immediately started the cardiac massage and brought him to the hospital, where doctors also tried but couldn’t save him.
The doctor also shared that after Nana died, they filed a police complaint because this was classified as a medico-legal case. His body was sent for post-mortem to Goa Medical College. He confirmed that while his family was not present in Goa at the time, his close friends and personal caretaker remained at the hospital.
