Director Sasi’s ‘Nooru Sami’ trailer offers an emotional look at Vijay Antony-Swasika’s emotions

The trailer of ‘Nooru Sami’ was unveiled on Monday, providing audiences with a first glimpse into a family drama that explores motherhood, sacrifice and personal identity. Directed by Sasi, the film reunites him with Vijay Antony nearly ten years after their acclaimed collaboration on ‘Pichaikkaran’.

At the heart of the story is Selvi, portrayed by Swasika, a mother raising two sons without a partner. The trailer presents her as someone who has dedicated her life to her children, often placing their needs ahead of her own. However, beneath her responsibilities lies a woman with dreams and ambitions that have long remained unfulfilled.

The preview suggests that societal expectations and family pressures have shaped many of Selvi’s life choices. As she begins to question those limitations and consider a path of her own, the narrative appears to examine the challenges faced by women who seek individuality beyond their role as caregivers.

Rather than portraying mothers solely through the lens of sacrifice, the film seems to focus on their emotions, aspirations and struggles as individuals. This perspective forms one of the central themes highlighted in the trailer.

The film stars Vijay Antony in a pivotal role, alongside Lijomol Jose and Ajay Dhishan. The supporting cast features Balaji Sakthivel, Munishkanth, Aruldoss, Jenson Dhivakar, Padine Kumar, Bagavathi Perumal, Thamarai, Vinodhini, Muthualagi, Kodangi Vadivelu, Saratha, Abinaya, Sabitha Roy, Moorthy, Subramania Siva, Sakthi and Kavya Anil, among others.
