Mona Singh Shares Sneak Peek of New Project in the UK

Bollywood actress Mona Singh, known for her roles in “Made in Heaven,” “Lag Singh Chaddha,” and “3 Idiots,” recently shared glimpses of her upcoming project set in the United Kingdom. On October 4, she posted behind-the-scenes photos from the picturesque Cotswolds on her Instagram, expressing her enthusiasm for stepping into this new creative venture.

In her post, she noted, “This project feels special and unique as we have discarded old rules.” This statement hints at a fresh and innovative approach to storytelling. The film promises to deliver something new to fans, diverging from traditional cinematic methods to explore untapped narrative dimensions.

Reports indicate that the film is directed by Vikas Bahl, renowned for the movie “Queen.” It features a blend of Indian and international actors and musicians, including Jimmy Shergill, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Mona Singh, and Alizeh Agnihotri.

Set in the early 1990s, the film focuses on the rise of the Punjabi music movement in the UK. It captures a vibrant and tumultuous period when a generation raised between different cultures was finding its voice through garage bands, backroom performances, pirate radio stations, and underground gigs.

Previously, Singh has discussed the industry’s role in shaping her career and her decision-making process. She remarked, “I believe that 40 percent of the role belongs to the industry. They provide the ground, script, and platform, while 60 percent is my responsibility. I choose which seeds to plant and, importantly, which to remove.”

The actress revealed that real change began when she started declining 90 percent of the shows offered to her. Singh first gained recognition for her role in the television series “Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin,” which aired in 2003. She later appeared in the inaugural season of the reality series “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa” and in “Kya Hoga Tera Vaada.”
