Diwali bonus
Before Diwali, the Modi government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) to the center employees and has also given non-productivity linked bonus, which is equal to 30 days’ salary i.e. about Rs 6,908. These bonuses will be available to the employees of Group B, Group C, Security Force and Union Territories. But not everyone will get this bonus. The government has made some special rules, which employees work till the time and do not take much holidays, they will be entitled to this bonus. The rest of the people will not get this bonus.
What are the conditions to get a bonus?
The government has made it clear that some necessary conditions will have to be fulfilled to get Diwali bonus. The first condition is that the employee has worked continuously for a certain time. If someone has taken long holidays in the middle or has not completed the duration of work, then he will not get this bonus. This means that only employees who work with constant and hard work will get this benefit. According to the report, this Non-Productivity Linked Bonus will be available only to those employees who will remain in jobs till 31 March 2025 and have worked at least 6 months continuously.
How much bonus will you get?
The government has kept the maximum amount of bonus Rs 7,000. But not everyone will get this full amount. Bonus will be given according to your basic salary. The calculation of the bonus will also be from the fixed formula, the calculation of the bonus will be 7000 × 30 ÷ 30.4 = 6907.89 from the formula of Rs. Meaning a bonus of Rs 6,908 can come in your account.
Increase in dearness allowance (DA)
Significantly, before Diwali, the government has also announced an increase in dearness allowance i.e. DA. This increase will be applicable from 1 July 2025. The rate of DA has now increased from 55% to 58%. Employees will get the benefit of this with the salary of October, which will also include their arrears. This increased DA will be from 1 July 2025, but it will be paid with a salary of October 2025. This means that the additional DA employees and pensioners of three months of July, August and September will get together in the salary of October.
If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 50,000, then earlier 55% DA i.e. Rs 27,500 was received. Now DA is 58%, then you will get Rs 29,000. Meaning 1,500 rupees more salary will be available every month. Similarly, whose basic pension is Rs 25,000, they first got Rs 13,750 Dr, now Rs 14,500 will be available. That is, the pension will increase by Rs 750.
