President Murmu Celebrates Indian Hockey Teams Gold Medal Victory at Asian Games 2026

 President Droupadi Murmu extended her heartfelt congratulations to India’s men’s hockey team for clinching the gold medal at the . The team triumphed over Malaysia with a decisive 5-1 victory in the finals.

This remarkable achievement contributed to India’s overall tally of 85 medals, which included 21 gold, 27 silver, and 37 bronze.

In a message shared on the social media platform X, President Murmu praised the team’s skill, determination, and composure under pressure, stating, “Winning the gold medal at the Asian Games 2026 has given every Indian another reason to celebrate and feel proud. Both our men’s and women’s   have secured gold, making this edition of the Asian Games truly special.”

The President also recognized , who won a in the men’s freestyle 97 kg category. She commended his performance, noting, “Your outstanding achievement has brought India a medal in this weight category after six decades.
