Actress Yami Gautam Dhar sought divine blessings at Takht Sri Patna Sahib ahead of the release of her upcoming film ‘Nayyi Navelli’, which is scheduled to hit theatres on October 16.
Yami arrived in Patna to interact with fans and celebrate the response to the film’s promotional material. She received a lively welcome from crowds gathered in the city, with dhol beats adding to the festive atmosphere.
During her visit, the actress spent time at Patna Sahib, offering prayers and seeking blessings ahead of the film’s theatrical release.
Yami also spoke to fans about her experience on the first day of shooting, recalling the challenges she faced while filming the song ‘Bhabhi Tabaahi’.
She revealed that the song required her to perform six different dance styles, ranging from energetic Bhangra movements to a full-fledged Moonwalk.
Recalling the beginning of the shoot, Yami said director Balaji Mohan casually asked her to try “whatever you’re comfortable with” while adding that she should attempt “just a bit of Moonwalk”. She said the request surprised her on the first day but that she enjoyed taking on the challenge.
The film’s trailer, released last month, introduces a newly married woman whose arrival transforms a turbulent household in Meerut into a seemingly harmonious family. However, the situation takes an unusual turn when her brother-in-law becomes convinced that his seemingly perfect sister-in-law is secretly a “daayan”, or witch.
Billed as a blend of family comedy and fantasy adventure, ‘Nayyi Navelli’ marks Tamil filmmaker Balaji Mohan’s Bollywood directorial debut.
The film is written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma and produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma. It is slated for a theatrical release on October 16, ahead of Dussehra.
