Actor Deepak Tijori has taken fans back to the early days of Shah Rukh Khan’s career with a rare throwback photograph featuring the superstar, his wife Gauri Khan and members of the team of the 1994 film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa.
Tijori shared the picture on social media, describing it as a “rare gem”. The photograph shows a young Shah Rukh seated in the centre, with Tijori beside him. Gauri Khan is seated next to Shah Rukh, while filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker can be seen standing behind them along with other members of the film’s team.
“Found this rare gem!” Tijori wrote in the caption, adding throwback hashtags.
Fans in the comments identified the photograph as being from the making of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, the Kundan Shah-directed coming-of-age romantic comedy that starred Shah Rukh Khan, Suchitra Krishnamurthy and Tijori in key roles.
Shah Rukh played Sunil, a young man deeply in love with Anna, portrayed by Suchitra. However, Anna falls for Chris, played by Tijori. The film also featured Naseeruddin Shah, Anjan Srivastav and Tiku Talsania, while Juhi Chawla made a special appearance.
The photograph also offers a glimpse of Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan from a period before the actor became one of Hindi cinema’s biggest stars. The couple married on October 25, 1991.
Tijori, who has been associated with Hindi cinema for more than three decades, has acted in films including Aashiqui, Khiladi, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Pehla Nasha, Anjaam, Ghulam, Baadshah and Vaastav: The Reality, among others.
He has also directed films such as Oops!, Fareb, Tom, Dick and Harry, Fox, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani and Tipppsy.
