Telugu superstar Jr NTR has vowed to pursue legal action against those responsible for creating and circulating an AI-morphed video of the song ‘Chuttamalle’ from his film ‘Devara’, while urging state governments and the Centre to introduce stringent regulations to prevent the misuse of artificial intelligence.
Reacting to the controversial video circulating on social media, the actor expressed outrage over the use of AI to create degrading content involving a woman. He took to X on Friday to condemn the incident and warn those involved of legal consequences.
“Disgusting, Sick and Shameless. In a land that worships women as mothers and goddesses, where ‘Matrudevo Bhava’ is not just a phrase but a part of our culture, some people have fallen so low that they are using AI to disrespect a woman in the most degrading way possible. Using AI to create something this vile is shameful beyond words,” Jr NTR wrote.
The actor issued a direct warning to those who allegedly created and shared the morphed video, making it clear that he intended to pursue all available legal remedies against them.
“To the scumbags behind this morphed Chuttamalle video, I will not spare any of you. I will take every possible legal action against those who created it and those who are spreading it,” he said.
Jr NTR also appealed to social media users not to view, circulate or engage with the objectionable content, cautioning that anyone could become a victim of such misuse of technology.
“Please do not watch, share or engage with such content. Today it is someone else. Tomorrow, it could be your mother, sister, wife or daughter,” he wrote.
Calling the incident a serious concern, the actor urged both state governments and the Government of India to take strong measures against the creation and circulation of abusive AI-generated material.
“This is a serious issue, and I urge all the state governments and the Government of India to act strongly and bring in strict regulations against the misuse of AI,” he added.
Earlier, actress Janhvi Kapoor had also expressed concern over the circulation of AI-generated fake videos, describing their creation and dissemination as a misuse of technology.
In a post on X, Kapoor urged people not to create, share or promote such material and warned that legal action would be taken against those responsible.
The reactions from both actors have brought renewed attention to concerns surrounding AI-generated manipulated content, particularly its potential use to target women and violate their dignity.
