On Saturday, Indian golfer Pranavi Urs made history at the Asian Games 2026 by becoming the first Indian woman to clinch an individual gold medal in golf at this prestigious event.
Additionally, she contributed to India’s silver medal in the women’s team competition. The 23-year-old from Mysuru showcased remarkable skill, finishing with a total score of 15-under 265, narrowly defeating China’s Yin Ruoning and Singapore’s Shannon Tan by just one stroke.
Thrilling Final Round
Entering the final round with a three-shot lead, Pranavi faced a challenge early on with a triple bogey on the third hole. However, she quickly bounced back with three birdies, maintaining her focus and competitiveness. As the pressure intensified on the last two holes, Pranavi executed vital par putts, concluding the 18th hole with another par to secure her position at 15-under. Both Yin and Tan finished at 14-under, placing Pranavi at the top.
