Trivikram Backs Out, Hanuman Ansh Takes on His Film

Hanuman Ansh is a blockbuster film. The devotional biographical film, made with a shoe-string budget of ₹1.75 to 2 crore, has emerged as a historic blockbuster. It reportedly grossed over ₹380 to 400 crore worldwide. This generated huge hype and buzz around its Telugu release.

Director Trivikram Srinivas had officially announced that he acquired the Telugu rights and would present the film in Telugu. However, in a last-minute development, the release was cancelled, and Trivikram backed out of presenting the film.

The Telugu rights eventually landed with Hombale Films, the prestigious production house behind films such as KGF, Salaar and Kantara. Now, the production house is bringing Hanuman Ansh to Telugu audiences as well.

What has caught everyone’s attention now is Hanuman Ansh’s Telugu release date. The film is slated to hit theatres on October 9, directly clashing with Trivikram Srinivas and Venkatesh’s Adarsha Kutumbam AK 47.

The irony is difficult to miss. Until last week, Hanuman Ansh was expected to be presented by Trivikram himself. Now, the same film is entering theatres against his Adarsha Kutumbam. That’s the unpredictable nature of the film business.

While the two films belong to completely different genres and are likely to appeal to different sections of the audience, the direct clash is still intriguing. Adarsha Kutumbam is targeting family audiences and women audiences, along with the youth, making the arrival of a surprise blockbuster like Hanuman Ansh an unexpected development for Trivikram and his team.
