Nova – Raiza Wilson horror sci-fi thriller set for October 1 worldwide release

Nova – Raiza Wilson’s upcoming horror science-fiction supernatural fantasy thriller has locked its worldwide theatrical release for October 1 this year. Directed by Milo, the film was earlier scheduled to arrive on September 25 but was subsequently postponed. The new release date was announced after cinematographer Christo Bob shared the update, which director Milo later reposted on Instagram.

Film Receives U/A Certification

The release announcement comes after Nova secured a U/A certificate from the Censor Board. Raiza Wilson had previously shared the certification news on Instagram, posting a poster carrying the U/A classification and describing the project as a science-fiction film designed for a broad audience.

The certification marks an important step for the production as the team prepares for its worldwide theatrical launch. While the makers have revealed limited details about the story, the film has been described as a blend of supernatural fantasy, science fiction, action and thriller elements.

Raiza Wilson Reveals Her Challenging Shoot

Raiza Wilson, known for her performance in Pyaar Prema Kaadhal, has previously spoken about the unusual conditions she experienced while filming the project. The actress said the movie follows a story-within-a-story structure and that her character plays a significant role in the flashback portions.

According to Wilson, the production took her to the forests of Marayoor in Kerala, where the crew encountered difficult weather and terrain. She recalled dealing with leeches, persistent rain and mist, sounds of wild animals and muddy, slippery paths during the shoot.

Action Sequences Required Special Training

Wilson said the production also filmed inside sandalwood forests, locations where securing permission can be challenging. Despite the demanding surroundings, she said the team completed the shoot according to schedule.

The actress also revealed that the film includes action sequences that required preparation. Stunt master Vimal Rambo provided her with specialised training, while her earlier fight training for Mr. X also helped her approach the physical portions of the role.

Wilson described the production as more demanding than she had initially expected. She recalled spending time on set in wet clothes because of the frequent rain, particularly while preparing for and filming the action scenes.

Director Milo’s First Feature Gets Attention

Wilson has also praised director Milo for maintaining an energetic atmosphere throughout the production. She said the positive working environment helped the cast and crew deal with the difficult shooting conditions.

The actress also highlighted the scale and complexity of the story, particularly because the project marks Milo’s first feature film. According to Wilson, the director remained committed to the production despite the challenges presented by the locations and weather.

Ensemble Cast Joins Raiza Wilson

Alongside Raiza Wilson, the film features Dhruva, known for Aanmai Thavarael, as well as Adviti Shetty and Bengali actress Krithika Biswas. Malayalam actor Joe John Chacko is also part of the cast, along with Sendrayan.

YouTube personalities Finally Swathika and Finally Krishna are among the other performers associated with the project. With its U/A certification secured and the revised release date now announced, Nova is scheduled to reach audiences worldwide on October 1.
