Pakistan Secures Spot in Asian Games Final with 6-Wicket Victory Over Bangladesh

 Pakistan advanced to the final of the men’s cricket event at the 2026   by defeating Bangladesh by six wickets in Nishin on October 1. Due to rain, the match at Korogi Sports Park was reduced to 13 overs instead of the usual 20. Pakistan was set a target of 112 runs.

The match began poorly for Pakistan, as captain Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed for just one run. Maz Sadakat scored 15 runs off seven balls, while Usman Khan added 14 runs from nine balls. However, Saeem Ayub played a crucial role, hitting two sixes and a four to score 21 runs off just 12 balls, helping to maintain the chase.

After losing four wickets for just 53 runs in 6.1 overs, Pakistan’s innings was steadied by Hasan Nawaz and Abdul Samad. The pair formed an unbeaten partnership of 59 runs off 32 balls, leading the team to victory. Pakistan reached 112 runs in 11.3 overs, finishing with four wickets in hand.

Earlier, Bangladesh batted first after winning the toss, posting a total of 111 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Their innings struggled initially, losing their top four batsmen for just 45 runs. Towhid Hridoy and Mosaddek Hossain then stabilized the innings, adding 53 runs for the fifth wicket off 30 balls. Towhid scored 42 runs from 25 balls, while Mosaddek contributed 11 runs off 16 balls. In the final overs, Mehedi Hasan added 8 runs off four balls, helping Bangladesh reach their total.

For Pakistan, spinner Sufiyan Mukim was the standout bowler, taking three wickets for 26 runs in three overs. Arafat Minhas also performed well, claiming two wickets for 23 runs in three overs, while Saeem Ayub took one wicket for just three runs in two overs.
