JSW MG Motor India delivered 50 Hector Tomahawk electric SUVs to customers in Surat on 28 September 2026, which the company described as a milestone. It said the single-day deliveries reflect interest in the recently launched model and the growing adoption of electric mobility.
The Hector Tomahawk EV starts at an introductory Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) price of ₹13.99 lakh plus a battery rental of ₹4.90 per km, for a limited number of bookings. Buyers who own the full vehicle can pay an introductory ex-showroom price starting at ₹19.49 lakh. The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant starts at a BaaS price of ₹21.79 lakh plus ₹3.20 per km, with an ex-showroom price starting at ₹25.69 lakh.
In Surat, ex‑showroom prices for the Hector Tomahawk EV start at ₹19.50 lakh for the Excite 7S, ₹22.00 lakh for the Exclusive 7S, ₹23.00 lakh for the Essence 5S and ₹23.50 lakh for the Essence 7S. The PHEV is priced at ₹25.70 lakh for the Exclusive 7S and ₹27.80 lakh for the Essence 7S.
The EV has a 69.2 kWh MAGIC Battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 150 kW and 310 Nm. The company gives its range as 517 km on a single charge (ARAI/MIDC certified, may vary with driving conditions), and the car supports DC fast charging of up to 90 kW.
The PHEV combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission and a 20.5 kWh battery. It offers over 115 km of pure-electric range and a 148 kW electric motor that takes it from 0 to 100 km/h in about nine seconds. The company puts combined range at over 1,100 km on a full tank and full charge. The PHEV has four drive modes: Pure Electric, Series Hybrid, Parallel Hybrid and Engine Direct Drive.
The company said the model brings India’s first Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capability, which lets owners power appliances, outdoor equipment and homes from the vehicle’s battery. It also describes the PHEV as India’s first in its segment.
The company said the MAGIC Battery passed needle penetration without fire, 180-degree thermal shock, 55-degree short-circuit and up to 40% cell deformation tests. It has undergone more than 2,000 bench tests and over 490 full-vehicle validation tests, and a battery management system monitors its health in real time. The first owner of an EV or PHEV gets a lifetime battery warranty.
The SUV is 4,745 mm long, 2,130 mm wide including mirrors and 1,770 mm tall, with a 2,810 mm wheelbase and 230 mm of ground clearance at the battery. The company calls it the tallest and among the longest in its segment. Boot capacity is up to 610 litres in the 5-seater with all rows in use. The EV comes in 5- and 7-seater configurations, and the PHEV only as a 7-seater.
Inside, the car has a 15.6-inch HD display, an 8.8-inch multi-information display, a 10-speaker Infinity audio system, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, front ventilated seats, a 6-way power driver seat with memory function and PM2.5 air filtration. Connectivity includes i-SMART 3.0 with over 80 connected features, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Digital Bluetooth Key and over-the-air updates. The company also cites a GenAI-powered voice assistant that understands 30+ Hinglish commands, and a karaoke app with over 8,000 tracks.
Safety equipment includes six airbags as standard on all variants, ESP, traction control, hill hold control, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring, ISOFIX anchors, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360° camera and Level 2 ADAS. The ADAS suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking and traffic jam assist.
EV buyers get the MG SHIELD 3-3-2 programme, which covers a three-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, three years of roadside assistance and two labour-free services. PHEV buyers get 3-3-3, with three labour-free services. An Assured Buy Back Program is available, along with extended warranty options and prepaid maintenance plans.
The EV is offered in six single-tone colours (Pearl White, Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Celadon Blue, Shadow Gold and Khaki Green) and two dual-tone options (Shadow Gold + Black and Khaki Green + Black). The PHEV comes in Pearl White, Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Celadon Blue, Turquoise Green and Shadow Gold, with dual-tone options of Turquoise Green + White and Celadon Blue + White. Colour options may vary by variant.
JSW MG Motor India is a joint venture between JSW Group and SAIC Motor. The company said it has sold over 1,50,000 electric vehicles since its first launch, and that the MG Windsor is India’s top-selling EV.
