Actress Shilpa Shinde has praised Salman Khan for his handling of the latest ‘Bigg Boss 20’ Weekend Ka Vaar episode and backed contestants Qazi Touqeer and Mahhi Vij for what she described as their straightforward approach to the reality show.
Taking to Instagram, Shilpa shared a video in which she said she had watched the previous Weekend Ka Vaar episode and was particularly impressed with Salman’s interaction with the contestants.
Referring to her recent reality-show experience, Shilpa said she wished Salman had been part of the show so he could have “sorted out” a contestant whom she cryptically referred to as “Annabella”, an apparent reference to Shivangi Joshi.
Shilpa also spoke in support of Qazi and Mahhi, saying their approach appeared “very straightforward” and “real”.
“It’s a reality show. Whatever you are, you look. And these people are not bad at all. They are playing very straightforwardly. So I want everyone to like them, support them because they are real,” she said.
Shilpa added that she felt some of the other contestants were presenting themselves differently from what they actually were.
She praised Salman for the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, saying, “Salman Ji, you made my heart happy. I missed you a lot in this lock-up show.”
Shilpa’s comments came in the context of ‘Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa’, which was hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. The grand finale streamed on August 5, with Shreya Kalra winning the season and receiving a cash prize of Rs 1 crore, while Shivangi Joshi finished as the runner-up.
Meanwhile, the 20th season of ‘Bigg Boss’ premiered on September 6 with 16 celebrity contestants, including MC Mary Kom, Kanika Mann, Mahhi Vij, Kushal Tanwar, Aman Gandhi, Isha Rikhi, Arishfa Khan, Qazi Touqeer, Asif Khan, Aamrapali Dubey, Rhiti Tiwari, Uditi Singh, Tanmay Singh aka ScoutOP, Yung DSA and Love Gill.
The show airs on JioHotstar and Colors.
