By Wednesday, the qualifying deadline, 19 of the 14 teams competing in the 2027 ODI World Cup will be confirmed. Zimbabwe and South Africa, the hosts, will be among them; the other eight nations will advance according to the ICC ODI standings.
The teams designated in the schedule as Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2, Qualifier 3, and Qualifier 4 will compete for the final four berths. Along with South Africa and Zimbabwe, Namibia is one of the host nations; however, its participation in the competition has not yet been confirmed.
Teams That Have Already Qualified For 2027 World Cup
The eight teams in position to advance through the rankings are now India (No. 1), New Zealand (No. 2), Pakistan (No. 4), Australia (No. 5), England (No. 6), Sri Lanka (No. 7), Afghanistan (No. 8), and Bangladesh (No. 9).
South Africa, the third-ranked squad, automatically qualifies as hosts; hence, Bangladesh, although being placed ninth, will make the cut. In the meantime, the qualifications, which are set for early next year, must be completed by the West Indies, who are now playing an ODI series in India.
