Director SS Rajamouli was put on the spot about a possible collaboration with Suriya during a pre-release event for filmmaker Shashank Yeleti’s upcoming film ‘Don’t Trouble the Trouble’.
Rajamouli attended the event as a special guest, while Suriya was also present. When the filmmaker was asked about the possibility of teaming up with the actor, Rajamouli chose not to elaborate, explaining that doing so could overshadow the film being promoted at the event.
The filmmaker said he had anticipated the question and had prepared a response, but pointed out that any discussion about a Rajamouli-Suriya project could become the main headline and push ‘Don’t Trouble the Trouble’ into the background.
At the same time, Rajamouli indicated that a collaboration with Suriya would be something special whenever it happens.
The ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Eega’ director also congratulated Suriya on the success of his recent releases ‘Karuppu’ and ‘Vishwanath and Sons’. Referring to the back-to-back successes, Rajamouli described them as a “double dhamaka” and wished the actor well for his upcoming film ‘Scene’.
Directed by Jithu Madhavan, ‘Scene’ also features Naslen and Nazriya. The film has generated interest following its promotional material, which presents Suriya in the role of a police officer.
Rajamouli noted Suriya’s previous experience with police characters through the ‘Singam’ franchise but suggested that ‘Scene’ appears to present a different version of the actor’s cop character.
Calling the character a contemporary and stylish police officer, Rajamouli expressed his enthusiasm for the film ahead of its scheduled November release.
