Vicky Kaushal has praised Alia Bhatt after the two actors walked the runway together as showstoppers at the 15th-anniversary edition of the Mijwan Fundraiser Fashion Show in Mumbai. Sharing photographs from the event on Instagram, Vicky said the experience was particularly meaningful because the showcase was connected to a cause that extends beyond fashion.
The actor said sharing the runway with Alia made the occasion even more special. He also shifted the focus from the celebrity showstoppers to the women and artisans whose work is supported through the initiative.
Vicky highlights the purpose behind the show
In his social media message, Vicky described the event as something that has always represented more than a fashion presentation. He thanked designer Manish Malhotra, actor Shabana Azmi and Namrata Goyal for bringing the performers together for the initiative.
Vicky noted that he and Alia had previously appeared as showstoppers, but said the people whose dreams are being supported through the programme were the real focus of the evening.
The actor’s comments highlighted the charitable purpose of the annual showcase, which combines fashion with efforts to create opportunities for rural women and young artisans.

Alia also shared photographs and a message about her participation in the event. She congratulated the team behind Mijwan and marked 15 years of the collaboration involving Manish Malhotra and the Mijwan Welfare Society.
She praised the initiative for providing artisans with a platform to present their skills and traditional craft. Alia also thanked the organisers for including her in the anniversary celebration and added a lighthearted message about sharing the runway with Vicky.
The two actors’ friendly interaction added a personal element to an evening centered on craftsmanship and social impact.
Alia and Vicky bring traditional looks to the runway
For the fashion show, Alia appeared in an ivory-toned embroidered ensemble. Her outfit featured a sheer dupatta with delicate white floral detailing, worn over a coordinated corset-style blouse and skirt.
She completed the look with traditional jewellery, including a kundan choker and matching maang tikka, along with accessories worn on her wrists.
Vicky chose a deep royal blue velvet sherwani jacket decorated with white floral zardozi embroidery. He paired it with a white kurta featuring a collar detail and tailored white trousers.
The pair subsequently walked the runway together as the show’s celebrity showstoppers.
Event marks 15 years of Mijwan collaboration
Titled Ticket to Bollywood, the fundraiser marked 15 years of collaboration between designer Manish Malhotra and the Mijwan Welfare Society. The organisation, associated with Shabana Azmi, works to support rural women and young artisans in Uttar Pradesh.
Traditional chikankari embroidery forms an important part of the initiative, with the programme providing artisans with opportunities to showcase and develop their craft.
The event also brought together fashion and entertainment personalities to highlight the work being carried out through the organisation. For Vicky and Alia, the runway appearance came at a time when they are also preparing to share the screen with Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love and War.
